About me

  • I am the Associate Pastor at Destiny Church. I have an amazing wife and two unbelievable children. I get to work each day with some of the most loving and creative people on the planet on behalf of the coolest bunch of people that you will ever find for a church family. Everything you read on this site, however, is my personal opinion and is not read or approved before it is posted. Opinions, conclusions and other information expressed here do not necessarily reflect the views of Destiny Church. In the end, they're just the ramblings of a guy who loves his God and His people and is putting one foot in front of the other on a journey toward Christ.

This guy could care less about Jesus or his love!! If he was really into Jesus and his love he would have had the guts to answer the question.

The video is a joke right?! Ridiculous!!

In this case, the politian's response to the reporter's question was inappropriate. The polititian should have answered the question directly and in a Christ-like way since he seems to claim he's a Christian. I find his response embarassing and proves that Christian Craziness is still out there.

I applaud the response of the reporter: He acknowledged his love for Jesus (I hope that was true) and went right back to his direct question about the subject at hand. Outstanding! I feel his response to be Christ-like.

SO, I watched this and I really am not sure what to say. I heard the words, but did not see the Heart of MY Jesus there. It seemed to look like he was using "Jesus Loves You" to try and make the reporter feel uncomfortable so he would stop trying to ask his questions. If that was the case, then I am very disapointed in him for doing that.

I DO THINK that everone needs to know My Jesus, but I DO NOT THINK this is really what he was using the questions/statements for and that makes me sad!

Being a "christian" politician has become a catch-all or crutch to this nation.

The church as a whole, in my opinion, has been to reserved in teaching it's people about the importance of getting involved in politics. It is our responsiblity as Christians to seek out the information we need in order to make the proper decisions in every area of our lives, including in who we vote for at every election.

I think to many people have just looked for the candidate who seems to claim to believe similar to our own way of thinking.

How many of us would invest our money and resources into a venture just because the person in charge of it happens to see things the same way we do? Politicians have learned that "buzz" words create a "feel-good" feeling in people and in most cases will cause them to overlook the real truths and issues.

The fact that the gentleman in that clip is basically hiding behind Jesus and His Love for people, is a bit enraging to me, but at the same time, Jesus does Love us and He loves that guy, no matter how that guy goes about living his own life or how he chooses to conduct his business.

However, non-believers are going to watch that clip and have their own negative beliefs about God reinforced and say "see, there is another religious nut out there taking from us and that is how God is.."

How people view God and how they came about reaching that conclusion is going to be the "truth" in their life.

While I watch that clip and feel some emotion of anger about it, the main feeling it gives me is a sickening feeling of just how bad we as true followers of Christ and His Church have allowed things to get out of our own complacent hearts. We hide behind Scriptures and thoughts of "well God is the one who appoints and sits those people on their positions of power, so I don't need to go vote, or get proactive about seeking out God and how I should vote."

I think that clip is a perfect example of how many non-believers view Christians and how they view God.

Not much of a comment....the man simply wasn't answering the reporters questions and used another tact in sidestepping the issue...much like politicians that turn any question asked into an answer that favors their opinions...called talking points I think. His comments about Jesus' love (if viewed outside of this interview by the reporter) make sense and seem genuine. But putting it together....he sounds like a politician who didn't want to answer the question. I like the reporters attitude, though...he answered the alternate questioning but tried to get the man back on track. I don't think I would have put this on TV though. It's making a witness about Jesus' love seem superficial and coming from an attitude of casual conversation.
